Wyoming Department of Transportation sensor along Wyoming Highway 260 at United States Highway 20 at Van Tassell observed sub-freezing temperatures and visibilities under a quarter mile.

Wider weather episode

Prolonged period of freezing fog across Converse, Goshen, Niobrara, and eastern Platte Counties on the morning of the 28th resulted in area crashes and closures along Interstate 25 particularly between Casper and Wheatland. Interstate was closed for several hours to clear the crash and treat the roadways resulting in a loss of commerce.
