Extreme(D3) to Severe(D2) drought covered the eastern three-fourths of the zone at the beginning of the month. At the end of November, Exceptional(D4) drought was over the far northeast and down to Severe(D2) drought over the far west.

Wider weather episode

Continued very dry conditions across the region lead to severe to exceptional drought conditions to expand and worsen over southern New Mexico during the month of November.
