Severe(D2) drought continued across the zone in the month of December. The Hillsboro Cooperative Observer reported 0.44 inches of precipitation which was 0.59 inches below normal.

Wider weather episode

Besides one precipitation event in early December, little moisture fell during the month. All climate locations reported below normal precipitation which kept all areas in severe to exceptional drought.
