Exceptional(D4) drought remained over the east which transitioned to Severe(D2) drought over the western portion of the zone.

Wider weather episode

Besides one precipitation event in early December, little moisture fell during the month. All climate locations reported below normal precipitation which kept all areas in severe to exceptional drought.
