The area of high pressure which built into central California on January 7 remained in place during the early morning of January 8 with areas of dense fog reforming in the San Joaquin Valley during the evening of January 7 and becoming widespread across much of the valley overnight through the morning of January 8. The dense fog was responsible for at least one two vehicle accident near Wasco. The fog lifted into a low cloud deck by late morning which then dissipated during the afternoon.
