A CoCoRaHS observer reported that a half of an inch of snow fell southwest of Dahlonega during the afternoon and evening of Christmas Eve.

Cold air spilling into north Georgia behind a strong low pressure center and associated cold front produced a period of light to moderate snow across portions of north Georgia during the afternoon of December 24 into the early morning of December 25.
