U.S. Customs at Haines highway border control station reported 14.4 inches of fresh snow at 7 am on December 23rd.

A strong front with damaging southerly winds and a long fetch of moisture moved over SE Alaska on Wednesday the 23rd. A wave formed along the front and caused moisture and winds to last the longest over the southern inner channels and Hyder.
