Event narrative

Heavy snow in the Central Cascades beginning the evening of the 29th led to a new 24 hour snow accumulation at Snoqualmie Pass of almost 20 inches by the evening of the 30th. Heavy snow would then continue into the morning hours of the 31st. Stevens Pass received less snowfall. On December 30, I-90 eastbound at North Bend (MP 34) was closed due to spinouts around 1PM.
