The season's first winter storm struck the area through the late morning and afternoon of Wednesday, December 23, 2020. This area was just to the northeast of the track of a strong blizzard and encompassed portions of northwest Minnesota which encountered light to moderate snow, strong winds, and dangerous wind chills which in combination also created periods of life threatening conditions.
