Event narrative

Winds generally were gusting to 45 to 55 mph. In Bedford at 321 PM EDT (221 PM EST), the ASOS at Hanscom Field (KBED) recorded a gust to 49 mph. In Wayland at 256 PM EDT (156 PM EST), a large tree was down on wires on Lakeshore Drive. In Hopkinton at 302 PM EDT (202 PM EST), a tree and power lines were down on Hill Street. In Ashland at 323 PM EDT (223 PM EST), a tree was down on Myrtle Street.

Wider weather episode

An arctic cold front moved from north to south across southern New England during the afternoon and early evening, producing scattered snow squalls and strong west-northwest winds gusting to 45 to 55 mph.
