Event narrative

An EF0 touched down briefly NE of Trenton in Gilchrist county near the Gilchrist-Alachua county line where a barn fell onto a tractor. The tornado likely lifted as it the parent supercell tracked northeast toward the city of Alachua, in Alachua county. Here, the tornado touched down again and damaged a carport roof which was peeled back. Trees were also damaged and fell in this location, one of which fell onto a car. Peak winds were estimated at 81 mph.

Wider weather episode

A strong pre-frontal squall line moved across the area with isolated severe storms. Shear was 40-60 kts with surface based CAPE of 1500-2000 J/kg.
