Strong and gusty north to northeast winds impacted the Santa Clarita Valley. Some peak wind reports from the local Mesonet include: Solemint Roadway (gust 73 MPH), Saugus (gust 69 MPH), Newhall Pass (gust 67 MPH), and Dry Canyon (gust 62 MPH).
Wider weather episode
Very strong and gusty Santa Ana winds impacted many areas of Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Northeasterly winds, gusting up to 99 MPH, were reported across many areas. The gusty winds did produce numerous reports of downed small trees and branches.
