The eastern half of the zone remained in Exceptional(D4) drought while the west continued to be in Extreme(D3) drought.

Wider weather episode

Besides in the highest elevations of the Sacramento Mountains, below normal precipitation was experienced across the region in February. All areas of the region remained in the same drought category as what they finished January in.
