At least a quarter inch of ice accumulated on trees and power lines in Clinton County, KY. 67% of the county's residents were without power at the height of the storm.

Wider weather episode

A significant winter storm with heavy mixed precipitation impacted central Kentucky from late on Valentine's Day through the early morning hours of February 16, 2021. The majority of the precipitation occurred on February 15, 2021. A large swath of 1-3 inches of snow fell in addition to heavy sleet totaling 1-3 inches. Freezing rain and rain mixed in as well, especially in southern and eastern Kentucky. Cold air behind the system brought single digit temperatures, with Lexington plummeting to 2 degrees on the morning of February 17, 2021.
