Sleet totaling 1.5 inches was measured at Mammoth Cave National Park, and the combined storm total of sleet and snow was around 3 inches.

A significant winter storm with heavy mixed precipitation impacted central Kentucky from late on Valentine's Day through the early morning hours of February 16, 2021. The majority of the precipitation occurred on February 15, 2021. A large swath of 1-3 inches of snow fell in addition to heavy sleet totaling 1-3 inches. Freezing rain and rain mixed in as well, especially in southern and eastern Kentucky. Cold air behind the system brought single digit temperatures, with Lexington plummeting to 2 degrees on the morning of February 17, 2021.
