Rain spread across Middle Tennessee during the evening hours on February 6, with the rain changing to snow as temperatures cooled across the area through the night into the morning hours on February 7. A swath of 1 to 8 inches of snow fell across southern and eastern Middle Tennessee, with the heaviest amounts occurring on the northern Cumberland Plateau.
