A woman in the city of Davis was injured by a falling tree branch at around 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. She was rushed by emergency responders to a hospital where she died. Wind may have been a factor.

Breezy winds developed across interior northern California on February 23 as a shortwave trough slid across the Pacific Northwest. High pressure was developing east of the region causing the pressure gradient to tighten over the region.
