Marine exchange observation at the Juneau AML dock reported a winds speed of 70 mph. at 2:52 pm.
Wider weather episode
Very strong pressure gradient between Whitehorse and Skagway along with good cross barrier flow at the mid levels from the east to induce increase lee side troughing on SEAK side of mountains. The Juneau area had a Taku from a moderate critical layer and very strong inversion and cross barrier flow.
