Snow developed across the mountains of southern North Carolina during the afternoon and evening of the 6th as a cold front approached from the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys. The snow continued through the overnight hours before tapering off during the morning of the 7th. Total accumulations ranged from 2 to 6 inches across the area.
