A mesonet station in Benton City, WA measured a non-tstm wind gust of 70 mph at 2:15pm PDT on March 28th. The ASOS KPSC at Tri Cities Airport, WA measured a non-tstm wind gust of 63 mph at 6:41pm PDT on March 28th.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front and shortwave trough moving across the region Sunday, March 28th produced gusty winds with blowing dust across much of the forecast area. Winds were strong enough to cause power outages in portions of Kennewick, WA, while low visibility from blowing dust contributed to a 7 car accident in Richland, WA.
