A mesonet station 11 miles SSE of Kahlotus, WA measured a non-tstm wind gust of 59 mph at 7:51pm PDT on March 28th. The ASOS KALW at the Walla Walla Regional Airport measured a non-tstm wind gust of 58 mph at 4:02pm PDT on March 28th.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front and shortwave trough moving across the region Sunday, March 28th produced gusty winds with blowing dust across much of the forecast area. Winds were strong enough to cause power outages in portions of Kennewick, WA, while low visibility from blowing dust contributed to a 7 car accident in Richland, WA.
