Hail accumulated on the ground such that it was several inches deep.
Wider weather episode
A low pressure system moving along a warm front lifting north into northern North Carolina, helped sparked isolated thunderstorms along and north of this boundary in Virginia and Southeast West Virginia. One of these storms turned severe, producing
localized large hail in Monroe County.
