Event narrative

Winds were generally gusting to 40 to 50 mph. The highest measured gust was 51 mph at the Fitchburg Airport (KFIT) at 332 PM EDT. In Sterling wires were down on Parent Hill Rd. In Fitchburg at 500 PM EDT a large tree came down with one of the large branches landing on a house. In Barre at 210 PM EDT a tree and powerlines were down on Peach St. In Ashburnham at 500 PM EDT a tree was down in a yard.

Wider weather episode

Low pressure and its associated cold front swept across the region before sunrise, bringing an end to rain showers. This was followed by dry but windy conditions which caused scattered damage across Southern New England.
