A 62 year old male from Pensacola, FL was pulled away from shore by a strong rip current and drowned as a result.

The wider storm

Strong southerly flow over several days led to the development heavy surf and rip currents at area beaches. Two rip current fatalities occurred in Escambia County FL. On March 27th, a 71 year old from Minnesota died. On March 28th, a 62 year old male from Pensacola, FL died.
