Event narrative

A narrow band of heavy snow showers produced whiteout conditions and slick roads over portions of I-41 in Washington County for a period of 45 minutes to 90 minutes. Numerous multi-vehicle accidents were reported on I-41 near highway 144 and Cedar Creek Road, which included a crash involving 30 vehicles and another with 48 vehicles. 1 death was reported. 12 people were injured and sent to the hospital. Another 26 people were treated at the scene.
