AWOS Station MKDJ Miss Canyon 311A meausred a peak wind gust of 44 mph or 38 knots from thunderstorm winds.

Wider weather episode

During the daytime hours on March 23rd thru the early morning hours on March 24th, a deep west coast trough helped to deliver progressive yet strong southwesterly upper-level to mid-level moist flow across the northern Gulf coast. At the surface, several waves of strong to severe thunderstorms approached the area from the west, quickly advancing east causing widespread severe thunderstorms across coastal waters from the afternoon on March 23rd through the early morning hours on March 24th.
