A large swath of damaging winds caused numerous reports of downed trees and power lines in and around Brantly.

Wider weather episode

A line of thunderstorms developed ahead of a southward moving cold front. As the storms moved into area during the afternoon, instability and shear allowed the storms to become severe. The storms produced large hail and several reports of damaging winds.
