Wider weather episode

A significant severe weather event was expected on March 17th as a volatile airmass was in place across the region. Ample moisture, strong wind shear and a stout weather system moving through set the stage for significant severe weather. Storms developed during the afternoon and moved east. Some storms did produce large hail and some tornadoes. The primary hazard was from damaging winds as a squall line moved through the region during the late afternoon and evening.
