The Boggy Creek Fire burned through at least 3,000 acres by the end of May.

The Boggy Creek Fire was started by lightning on May 23 in the Wallow Fire (2011 -538,000 acres) scar in steep rugged terrain in an area with heavy dead and down snags. The fire was 15 Miles SW of Alpine, Arizona and burned in timber (litter and understory) and short grass (1 foot).
