Eight miles west northwest San Isabel.

Wider weather episode

As flow aloft increased out ahead of an approaching system, strong downslope winds developed lee of the eastern mountains, especially lee of the Sangre de Cristo and Wet mountains. Further north across Pikes Peak and Rampart Range, strong winds slid down the lee slopes into extreme western El Paso county. Strongest winds during this period were in the 70 to 80 mph range.
