The Newton County Sheriff's office reported two sections of Highway 692 flooded with 1 to 2 feet of water flowing across the roadway.

Wider weather episode

A warm front pushed north across Southeast Texas during the 23rd. This produced localized flooding. Additional storms occurred on the 24th as a cold front moved through.
