Event narrative
A young teenage swimmer at North Beach along the Racine lakefront was found unconscious about 200 yards from shore. The swimmer was flown to a local hospital but succumbed to injuries sustained from drowning two days later. Onshore winds and waves may have caused long shore and structural currents along North Beach and the North Beach Pier which may have contributed to the drowning death.
