A wind gust of 45 knots from the north-northeast was recorded at a home weather station in the Stellrecht Point subdivision of Key Largo.
Wider weather episode
A large mesoscale convective system propagating southward from the central Florida peninsula initiated a large outflow boundary that pushed southward throughout the Florida Keys. Widespread gale-force wind gusts, especially across the coastal waters of the upper and middle Florida Keys, resulted.
