Exceptional(D4) drought continued through the month of May. The Buckhorn Cooperative Observer reported just 0.10 inches of precipitation which was 0.26 inches below normal.
Wider weather episode
Very little to no precipitation fell across southern New Mexico in May which kept all areas in Severe(D2) to Exceptional(D4) drought.
