Event narrative

A minor debris flow occurred at mile marker 111 on Highway 191. Rocks estimated to be the size of microwaves and other debris closed the road for a short while until it could be cleared. Radar estimated 0.50 inches of rain fell across the area.

Wider weather episode

A broad midlevel trough moved across eastern Utah and acted on ample residual monsoonal moisture to produce numerous showers and thunderstorms across the area. Some storms produced gusty winds to 70 mph as well as heavy rain which led to localized debris flows in San Juan County.
