Event narrative

A thunderstorm moved across Loving County and produced wind damage. There were 30 power poles that were broken and blown down seven miles north of Mentone. The cost of damage is a very rough estimate.

Wider weather episode

An upper level ridge was centered over north central Texas. There was high moisture across West Texas. A surface trough had developed across the Guadalupe Mountains and mountains of West Texas. Fairly hot temperatures were in place across the area. These conditions resulted in a thunderstorm that developed in Loving County that produced wind damage.
