Water and mud ran over Colorado Highway 139 near mile marker 22 within the Pine Gulch Fire burn scar due to heavy runoff from the East Salt Creek wash.
Wider weather episode
Abundant monsoon moisture remained in place across the Western Slope. This, paired with increased instability, resulted in another round of showers and thunderstorms with the stronger storms producing heavy rain. This led to a debris flow in Garfield County within the Pine Gulch Fire burn scar.
