Sheboygan lakeshore weather station measured a severe wind gust to 52 knots as a line of strong thunderstorms passed across the shore area.
Wider weather episode
During the early evening on August 10th, a line of severe thunderstorms crossed the shore and nearshore waters of Lake Michigan, producing a 10 to 30 minute period of wind gusts in excess of 34 knots. Peak wind gust reported was 55 knots at Kenosha lakeshore.
