Severe thunderstorms crossing the Port Washington shore area resulted in a 10 minute period of strong wind gusts at the lakeshore. The peak wind gust was 38 knots.

During the early evening on August 10th, a line of severe thunderstorms crossed the shore and nearshore waters of Lake Michigan, producing a 10 to 30 minute period of wind gusts in excess of 34 knots. Peak wind gust reported was 55 knots at Kenosha lakeshore.
