A weak low pressure system drifted slowly NE along the GA/SC coastline away from the SE GA/NE FL area, with a moist/tropical airmass in its wake. Westerly flow combined

with diurnal heating produced numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms with the main impact heavy rainfall from slow moving storms.

Began near Tarboro (31.0900, -81.8200).
