Locally dense fog developed in the early morning hours in the Kennebec River
Valley. The dense fog led to low visibilities which limited reaction time for motorists. At 0420 EST, the fog contributed to a single pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the town of Monmouth, ME. The accident claimed a life (indirect fatality). The closest visibility sensor to the accident was at the Augusta Airport where the ASOS observation was reporting one quarter of mile around the time of the accident.
