Event narrative

Several photos were taken of a funnel cloud near the north end of Calcasieu Lake. The photos left uncertainties if the funnel became a landspout or waterspout since the horizon could not be seen.

Wider weather episode

Typical of summertime convection along the coast of Southwest Louisiana a thunderstorm developed along the sea breeze and moved inland. A funnel cloud was reported near Hackberry.
