Event narrative
The entire zone remained in Exceptional(D4) drought through June. The Cooperative Observer in Buckhorn received only 0.05 inches of rain which was 0.45 inches below normal.
Wider weather episode
Areas of far southwest New Mexico continued to remain dry in June, but the Sacramento Mountains and parts of south-central New Mexico did receive above normal precipitation. There was some improvement to drought conditions in these areas with above normal rainfall.
