The zone remained in Severe(D2) drought through the month of June. The Hillsboro Cooperative Observer reported 1.55 inches of rain which was 0.72 inches above normal.
Wider weather episode
Areas of far southwest New Mexico continued to remain dry in June, but the Sacramento Mountains and parts of south-central New Mexico did receive above normal precipitation. There was some improvement to drought conditions in these areas with above normal rainfall.
