The far eastern portion of the zone started out in Exceptional(D4) drought and improved to Severe(D2) drought over the west. By the end of June, the zone was either in no drought to Moderate(D1) drought.

Wider weather episode

Above normal rainfall, especially in the later half of the month helped to improve drought conditions across Far West Texas in June.
