The month started with Exceptional(D4) drought over the southeast half of the zone and Extreme(D3) drought over the northwest. By the end of the month the southeast was in Severe(D2) drought and the northwest in Moderate(D1) drought.

Wider weather episode

Above normal rainfall, especially in the later half of the month helped to improve drought conditions across Far West Texas in June.
