Event narrative

Up to five inches of rain fell in about a two hour period causing flash flooding. Numerous roads were flooded including Highway A in New London, U.S. Highway 61 south of New London, and the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and Highway 19. Also, Highway 19 just southwest of Center and the intersection of Kingbird Lane and Highway F.

Wider weather episode

An outflow boundary from earlier convection moved southward through region, triggering widespread storms. Some of the storms became severe with numerous reports of large hail, damaging winds and flash flooding.
