Event narrative

Large hail damaged siding of several mobile homes along Emmett road. NWS survey team observed many leaves stripped off of trees and some damage to siding in the general area, while surveying other damage in the area. Time based on radar.

Wider weather episode

A cold front, aided by an unusually amplified mid level trough, moved through Eastern North Carolina during the peak heating of the afternoon. This combined with favorable instability and shear to produce organized clusters and lines of thunderstorms which produced damaging winds and large hail.
