A wind gust of 35 knots was measured at an automated WeatherFlow station at the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative Tavernier Substation.
The wider storm
Fresh east to southwest winds in combination with enhanced upper divergence from an upper low pressure system in the western Gulf of Mexico resulted in gale-force wind gusts in westward-moving thunderstorms along the Upper and Lower Florida Keys.
