Daytime heating combined with increased moisture and enhanced wind fields and shear, associated with Tropical Depression Ida moving across the Tennessee Valley, to produce a band of fast-moving showers and thunderstorms. A segment of the line developed into a bow echo in which severe wind gusts took down some trees.
